Production

The first full-length cartoon about SpongeBob, combining animated and in-game shooting, was originally planned as the end of the SpongeBob franchise. However, after a box office success and grossing of 140 million dollars with a budget of 30 million dollars, it was decided to continue the adventures of the protagonist. The second part of the cartoon dedicated to the memory of the American actor Ernest Borgnine earned $325 million at the box office with a budget of $74 million.

Initially, the cartoon was supposed to be released in 2019 – the 20th anniversary of the animated series “SpongeBob,” but later the premiere was postponed until 2020 due to fear of competition with the film “Dora the Explorer.”

Plot

SpongeBob is a story about the adventures of a SpongeBob and his pal Patrick. Every day he goes to work at the Krusty Crab marine restaurant and cooks the very best Krabby Patty. SpongeBob is always cheerful and this constantly annoys his neighbor and work colleague Squidward.

SpongeBob lives in a pineapple with his snail Gary and loves to catch jellyfish. He could not pass a driving exam for 20 times and, most likely, he will never pass.

In the underwater city of Bikini-Bottom, everything is thought out to the smallest detail. Bob has friends and enemies. For example, Plankton is constantly trying to steal the secret to making burger Krabby Patty in order to compete with Mr. Krabs. A cheerful SpongeBob cannot lead a quiet life and constantly finds itself in various situations.
