This picture is planned as the beginning of a new adaptation of the famous American franchise of the mid-2000s, “The Grudge,” the first film of which appeared on the screens in 2004 and, with a budget of $10 million, gathered a solid box office of $180 million.
Such success inspired the creators, and in 2006, and then in 2009, two more parts came out. The franchise was successful not only among the audience but also among the critics. And in 2006, the fourth part of the “Scary Movie” was released. It told about the events that occurred in the first part.
However, it is not an original project. It was based on the Japanese film “Ju-On.” So now, the viewer is actually waiting for a remake of the remake.

Plot
First movie
Karen is a US medical student who has decided to continue her studies in Japan. Like all students, she is not averse to earning money, and when she is offered a nurse’s place in one of the old mansions, she agrees with pleasure. Then it turns out that the house is not simple, but with a curse, the ghost of the murdered young woman Kayako Saeki lives there. This ghost kills everyone who settles into this damned house.
Second movie
The second part tells how this strange house was cursed. It turns out there was a Saeki family. A husband named Takeo was a very jealous person, and this trait of his intolerable personality turned into a great tragedy. First, he killed his wife Kayako, then killed their son Toshio. Then he hanged himself.
However, Karen from the first film decides to act radically and burns the mansion. She gets into the hospital. In order to help her out of trouble on the instructions of her mother, her sister Aubrey arrives. Because of many adventures, from a burnt down house, the spirit of Kayako clings to Aubrey and is no longer limited only to the territory of the mansion. Ultimately, Kayako and Toshio even get to Chicago and continue to kill people for nothing, including the family of a boy named Jake Kimble.
Third movie
Kayako’s sister, named Naoko, comes from Japan to Chicago and settles in the house where bloodthirsty ghost sister killed the Kimble family. In the next apartment, Max, Lisa and their little sister Rose live. The baby began to see Toshio. In addition, after that, a series of terrible murders began in the house…
What awaits the viewer in the new version of “Grudge?” One can only guess, however, the producer of the project, Sam Raimi, has already stated that the creators decided that they should turn to the original source. What exactly he meant – the Japanese film or the first film from the American franchise is not yet clear, but the action will unfold in American suburbs.
