What if your life depends on a stranger – will you take the risk and try to escape the mountains? The upcoming American movie we are discussing today is based on the novel of the same name that was represented to the public in 2011. Already in 2012, the new project started developing when a few screenwriters were hired to make some changes in the story. According to the opinion of some of the creators of the upcoming movie, he didn’t see the love story behind what two main characters had to go through together to be able to survive in the mountains. However, in The Mountain Between Us movie trailer 2017 we still can see a bunch of optimism and a big hope which are decisive for survival.

The principal photography of the movie started at the beginning of December 2016 till the end of February 2017. The actual filming took place in Vancouver and on the border between Alberta and British Columbia when the team had to struggle with difficult filming conditions. According to the experience of the whole crew, the temperature in the mountains was extremely cold as the big number of scenes had to be shot on a mountaintop. The team had to set up minicamp so that they had to reach there by cars driving more than half an hour. In some cases, they had to board the helicopter delivering all the needed food supplies.

Storyline

As it was shown in The Mountain Between Us teaser trailer the airport had to cancel all the flights due to the extremely dangerous weather conditions. Meanwhile, a photojournalist Alex – played by Kate Winslet – is getting married the next day so that she has to find the way to reach her destination. She meets Dr. Ben – played by Idris Elba – who works as a surgeon and was invited to the medical conference. Both realize they have the same problem and Alex offers to board a charter plane. But they have no clue where it is going to lead them to.

During the flight, the pilot suddenly has a heart attack which leads to the almost fatal plane crash in the wilderness. According to new The Mountain Between Us official trailer 2017, the main characters get the injuries but they still managed to survive the crash. Ashley has a leg fracture whilst Ben realizes his ribs are broken. Despite that fact, the both make a decision to find the way out discovering dangerous mountain places. The movie is scheduled to be released at the beginning of October 2017 in American theaters.
